When one sees a war novel they expect a lot of fighting. Even though this book was made into a movie, and has won a ton of awards. You are still left with a “This is the story of Iwo Jima.” And in a way it is. But its really the back story. What really was going on. Over all it was adecent page turner, and something I can see reading again later.
