Perhaps is a strong word.
You need to remove yourself from the gene pool to qualify for a Darwin. Its not just a term for people doing dumb shit.
Yes, the Darwin award is for people who deliberately do spectacularly stupid and dangerous things that result in their entirely foreseeable death. Doing something like firing a gun and having your pants fall down–is stupid, sure, but it’s hardly spectacular or mortally dangerous. Doing dangerous things isn’t good enough either, or else all astronauts who die would qualify (as would police, firemen, soldiers, etc.) You can’t be a nominee unless you actually die, and then, only the most spectacularly stupid can win. For the most part, this video may contain some potential nominees-in-training.
Just to correct Mojo a bit. You dont have to die. Getting castrated is good enough too. But I may be wrong.

At the boom boom boom it wasn’t funny anymore.
The video that starts at 4.45 was record in my old home town.
A fireworks factory was exploded and 21 people got killed.
More than a 1000 wounded and a whole neighborhood was destroyed.

Besides that, to get an Darwin award there are 5 requirements.
- Nominee must be dead or rendered sterile.
- “Astoundingly stupid judgment.”
- Cause of one’s own demise.
- Capable of sound judgment. (The nominee must be at least past the legal driving age and free of mental defect.)
- The event must be verified.
Some of the video’s used in this clip doesn’t meet any of the requirements. So don’t post something you don’t know shit about.
You are right that the Darwin Award is for those who actually off themselves. But… stupidity (even accidents) tend to get honorary mention.
I’ll admit some of these are funny examples of idiots hurting themselves but I also see a lot of things that seem like honest accidents.
The one I thought was the most inappropriate was the guy who got caught on the rope swinging out into the lake. A lot of people do that. It’s a lot of fun. That was clearly an accident, and a bad one.
Have some discretion to know what is humorous and what deserves sympathy. Sometimes people do stupid things and hurt themselves and it’s kind of funny. Some kid getting slammed against the side of a mountain isn’t funny. You’re not creative.
Also, the person who died very stupidly can not have any offspring. It would mean that they have already subjected their stupidity to another generation.
Most of those were pretty funny, but I thought having the Challenger on there was uncalled for.
Some of these were hilarious. and others deserved sympathy.
on of the funny ones was they guy who kept repeating something exploded and it was no shit Sherlock. but of course i mean this in offense to the guy not the explosion.
Actually everyone deserves a darwin because we have all done a really stupid thing in our lives (even though you try hard to block it from your memory). You just didn’t die from it….yet.

everything happens for a reason and wat happend in this video was proof of that. totally hillarious and most of them were brought on themselves. jus goes to show dumb ppl desrve to leave this world, even if its at the cost of others lives too.

People were killed in some of these videos. Just because it wasn’t you doesn’t mean these people deserved to die. This world is seriously lacking compassion and this only adds to it…
‘Everything happens for a reason’ is the most retarded phrase out there, and doesn’t even make any f**king sense in any real context. Its like saying, “Apples are red unless they’re green.”
