Bay Area has an earthquake

Well about 30 minutes ago I felt an earth quake… but it wasn’t enough for me to freak out.  So after some research at the USGS website, I found we had an earthquake between Fremont and San Jose.  At first it showed as a 6 but was soon downgraded to 5.6.  What I find interesting was that it was on top of the supposedly dangerous Hayward fault… the fault that is supposed to be giving us a 9.0 earthquake.  So was it the Hayward fault?  Was it relieving pressure, or did they exaggerate.
