Since 1865 when the Secret Service Division was created, (July 5, 1865 in Washington, D.C. to be exact), to suppress counterfeit currency. The Secret Service has become known more for protecting the President. But the main job of the Secret Service (outside Presidential protection) is tracking down counterfeitters.
