As a full convert to Ubuntu I’m continually being more and more impressed with how flexible, stable and how usable it is. I’ve played some games on Ubuntu, but I’ve never researched the bigger games. I just assumed that there really wasn’t anything. I was wrong. I found a site where a guy reviewed a number of games. Look at the below screenshots, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. And these games are just a few of the many ones that he reviews.

It is true that you can’t run to Walmart and buy a Linux version of the newest games; Yet there are plenty of games that are worth playing in Linux. Although there are thousands of Linux games, these are the best. If you don’t know how to install these games, read Installing Games In Ubuntu.

The First List

Now as any good article gets attention, you get other suggestions which led to this post:

…a few concerned readers politely suggested games that should have been on that list. As a result, I discovered many games I hadn’t even heard of, but turned out to be fun. Instead of changing the old list, I decided to create another one, containing only the games I recently discovered. It also sparked the creation of a sub-category titled “Games” under Ubuntu on this site. So here they are, in alphabetical order.     BTW – Good list, not complete there where a few commercial games (older) I was surprised not to see on it. But all in all pretty good.
