ClickyI really suggest that everyone do this at least once. This was one of those crazy days where I went to lunch and came back to a dozen emails… wander off to deal with tech support and get another half dozen, wander back to tech support and come back to another dozen. And trying to get actual work done and keep on top of all this was a challenge today. So when I hear my wife was playing an early game out at Kennedy Park I jumped at it.

ClickyStopping at home I picked up a kite I had gotten myself and a cheap, but cute Mallard Duck kite that was my sons. And as soon as we got to the ball fields I knew I wouldn’t be flying my kite. There was a good breeze but not good enough for my “star kite.”

ClickyRule one… be patient. My son would get so crazy that the kite soon crashed down, time after time. I started to wonder if the breeze was just dying too much. But I soon realized that the cheap kites that they sell kids are light enough to not require much breeze. They are also flexible enough to take a beating, so don’t worry too much. Just let them run around… the nice relaxing part is after they tire.

ClickyOnce up, I have to say its peaceful just standing there watching it sale back and forth. And this Mallard Kite was I’m not sure if weak enough, or purposely built to seem like it was “flapping” against the wind. So being out there there isn’t really any trees to worry about, so you can just get it a decent distance away, and let it just soar.

ClickyI had mentioned the best part is once you have it up… the kid is tired and bored and moved on, you can just relax, lay back and enjoy the peacefulness. No stress. No worries. Just watching the kite move with the wind, watch it do it’s “flapping” motion. I actually wasn’t worried about how much time we spent out there.
