Crytek, the makers of the successful FPS, Far Cry, have released a new video showcasing their newest project, Crysis. Along with the open-endedness of Far Cry, the highlight of the game is the ability to modify all the weapons and even your own abilities on the fly. With just the touch of a few controls, you can quickly add a silencer to you weapon, increase your speed, heal wounds, etc. From the looks of the video, this can make for some very frenzied and chaotic firefights.
I’d say chaotic. I wonder if it’ll be a noob fest, or whether you’d be able to have ANY teamwork. It sort of reminds me of a sped up Battlefield in play. But the engine definitely is a cleaned up Far Cry. Though for a Alpha… it looks pretty good.
