Somewhere there is a naked Porcupine!
This Pit Bull (Bull Terrier) decided he would attack a poor Porcupine; but being brave and stupid, he learned the hard way that you can’t always win, no matter how tough you are. The vet sedated the dog and removed 1347 quills… the dog survived and hopefully learned a lesson.
- There is a fine line between bravery and stupidity (Bull* are known for being bold and brave).
- Choose your fights wisely.
- Don’t mess with Porcupines!
I love dogs… but there are times you’ve got to shake your head and wonder at their wisdom.

Thanks for the links. Not sure why I didn’t run this story through Snopes before. I run most the other stories. I had gotten passed this and told it was her brothers friend who it had happened too.

Anyone who owns dogs can see something like this happening. Its not normally the owners fault. And some dogs are worse then others in this type of situation.
Dog owners are sometimes less owners then care takers.

im sorry but i dont think that its the owners fault that the dog got into a fight with a Porcupine, how does any one know that the owners where even around when this happened, they could have let the dog out to use the bathroom, and seen a porcupine and went after it. or the owners werent even home, there are soo many possibles with this kinda situation like no one knows but the owners
He looks like pinhead from Hellraiser, lol. I dont understand how this topic has produced so much debate…the dog decided to p.o. a porcupine and the porcupine gave the dog what for. What does this have to do with the owners? Not everyone keeps a surveillance camera attached to their pet, especially not people living in the country (where you’d expect to find a porcupine).

It wasn’t my dog, but it did survive… and the doctor was able to fix a lot of the scarring.

dogs are curious animals. who knows if the dog saw the porcupine as a threat or not. for all of you calling the dog stupid — goes to show how much you know(not much). pits are very intelligent but if you piss them off they won’t back down. thats probably what happened. dog got curious, went up to smell it’s butt and got quilled. then got pissed off and tried to tear the crap out of it attacker.

I think this is not funny at all! You should not put these kind of pictures on the internet. Anybody who thinks this is funny is mean and cruel. How would you like it if I stuck needles into you!?
I think I’m going to go ahead and lock this. It is humorous in an ironic sort of way, and I very much doubt anyone was actually laughing. What happened to the dog is very common and normal, and is just a documented example of a very bad case.
There is just too much anger and idiocy in the comments.
