One of the joys of my job is dealing with some of the different businesses in town. Some are small (like new doctors offices), and some are fairly huge (like some wineries). But it’s the unusual ones that really are nice. Case in point is Rob Struven and his Tattoo parlor Garage Ink. Originally started in Hayward at Ron Simms Custom Bike Shop. He opened the shop over on Third Street in Napa, providing another tattoo parlor, but also a great artist who has been mentioned in various magazines.
He’s been in business in Napa for a few years now, and what brought it to mind is that he had another new artist come in and get some cards. One thing I noticed is that most of the artists also do art on other materials… generally as painters of one sort or another…. ie. pens or pencils also.
I decided to go to Garage Inks Page and though slightly annoyed at some interface issues with the design of it (grr I want to be able to click the small images and get bigger) I was surprised at the amount of press he’s gotten and also the extent of his galleries.
