A 10-year old Italian boy has become the youngest person to swim between Sicily and the Italian mainland.
Giuseppe Mangano, who can see the Strait from his house in Messina, Sicily, completed the 3,700 metre crossing despite poor weather conditions, high waves and being stung by two jellyfish.

Wow, you’ve got to watch the boy. Even at 10 he’s very self assured. “…I did it for myself.” Cool story and the fact he got stung a couple times, and just didn’t beg off to ride the the boat, but kept swimming. I just Gotta love cool stories like this.
