Official Google Blog: How long is 8 years in Internet time?
This week we celebrate Google’s 8th birthday, and I hope you like the commemorative logo that appears on today’s homepage:
Having worked at Google for 6 years, I’ve been lucky enough to design our birthday images (and a lot of other doodles). I hope you enjoy reading the candles.
It’s amazing to think about. Mind almost everyone uses them, and a number of their services have been ranked best in field (Search Engine, email, Adwords, Analytics) but so many different companies both envy and fear them. When you stop and realize how young and old the dcompany is you have to shake your head. I’m still rooting for them, they’ve had their hiccups but generally have stayed true to their word, and continued to provide and upgrade their services they run for free…. and also come out with innovative ways to continue paying the bills.
When I first wrote the title of this post I had a picture of an eight year old girl going “I is only 8 years old…” and I thought of throwing a recording of that… but I figured most people who read this blog have a good enough imagination to not bother with that.
