Wal-Mart Online Job Application – Homeland Stupidity

Are you looking for that ever-elusive online application for a job at Wal-Mart? If so, you need to read this.

If you’re looking to apply for a job at Wal-Mart, I’ve got good news and bad news. First, the bad news.

If you’re trying to apply for a job as an associate at your local Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club store, you are simply going to have to visit the store and fill out an application in person. Even if it’s an hour long bus ride both ways. Sorry. But you’d have to do that every day anyway if you were hired, so don’t let it bother you too much. Just go on out, fill out the application, and then do your shopping. However, if you’re looking for a management-level position, you may find it listed at Wal-Mart’s online job listing.

The good news for people in northern California is that Walmart.com does accept applications online for work for the Web site. You’re pretty much going to have to live in the Bay Area, though. Wal-Mart does provide a free shuttle to and from the BART and Caltrain stations.

Or, if you’re interested in living in Bentonville, Ark., you can go work at headquarters, or some other field locations. Try the online job search here for these opportunities.

Two amazing things come to mind:

  1. That Wal-Mart doesn’t accept applications online
  2. The fact people are stupid enough to ask for a job in a blog.

Homeland Stupidity wrote the above article… and NUMEROUS people posted in the blog asking for a job with Wal-Mart. Complete with phone numbers and addresses, In short notes just asking for an application to be emailed, and longer missives that had detailed information about job abilities.

Edit: Wal-Mart now has an online job application for hourly positions at your local Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club locations.  io_error was nice enough to note that so people can stop posting in his blog asking for a job.
