I’ve complained to myself at the ability to find older posts I’ve made and wished for a better way for visitors to find posts. (I generally have to use the admin interface) So in looking around I came acrossed this plugin that cleaned it up some. I’ve implimented it for now, and I’ll work to see if I can integrate some fanciness to have some CSS tricks (ie. have them be collapsable). You’ll see it linked to the right.
Edit: It didn’t take long to find a fancied up version done by a friend… as well as another feature I’m not as sure I’ll like. The first plug-in for the cleaned up Archives plugin of Viperbond. The post times image is generated by a seperate plugin.

It doesn’t look quite as good as Viperbonds but I think it’ll work. Viperbond meantioned wanting to clean up the code some… I’ll see what I can do to help.
What feature of my plugin don’t you like?
Not the plugin per say. But the blogtime bar bit. Mine looks freaking confusing. Also is there a way to have it have a transparent background? stands out a hair when I use it.
BTW – I may be using the wrong settings on it.
um btw how often does the archives plugin update the post counts?
Just open the plugin and adjust the color settings.
For my plugin: on every page load, it queries the total number of posts in order to make sure the cache is up to date.
rgr thanks for the info, and I have adjusted the colors… but I want to set the background transparent. What color is that?
