I got this DVD a couple years ago. I had walked into a Fry’s Electronics to get something, don’t even rememebr what it was now, and walking down the aisles with my son I ran acrossed a demo machine using a cool video “to show it off.” I’ve no idea why playing a DVD is supposed to be showing the poer of a 64 bit or P4 machine, but this video was cool.
This team had not only had an idea (The DVD has a pretty good background on it) but they where able to carry it out pretty well.
They wanted to create a mix of Computer Animation and Music. They loved Synthisizer music… or at least played it. And they saw it as a challenge. To take everyday items, and make them create music. And being a bit smart they created a program that took music and synced it up, and then they played with cameras to see what worked. They made a couple small videos to prove they could do it, and raised a bit of money. DVD 1 was so big that they are working on a second DVD. (The DVD includes a teaser for DVD 2 (which released in 2005 and I’ve yet to see for sale), and the website has a bit more info.
Here is the biggest “hit” from DVD 1. Pipe Dreams is available both in Full screen and Widescreen. If you like what you see I’d suggest you get it, my now 5 year old son loves it, and it really is amazing. In fact it’s one of the few Videos I have on my Video Ipod.
