hmmm that title looks ackward… but I seem to be batting 500 with it.

I was just informed of a couple dates that I thought important:

Computers & Electronics recycling event is on Friday June 9th and Saturday June 10th from 9am-2pm in the South parking lot at Napa Valley college. You can’t miss it, trust me.

This event yearly takes in tons of consumer and business electronics waste each year, most of it for free. So if you have an old computer that is more boat anchor or door stop then usable, then bring it down. Or if you just have broken appliances or computer parts or what not. Then throw it in your car and truck, they’ll unload for you.

Also, Chef’s Market starts on May 26th.

That short little phrase can mean a lot. This has been a great weekly festival that they do in downtown Napa. With numerous live bands, lots of great food, and of course a number of schlocky booths in which to spend money. They had totally messed it up at the beginning of last year with having beers only able to be bought with tickets…. at the exact opposite of where the beer was sold. about 3 blocks away. Plus they shut down a lot of the favorites (booths and band places) with their demands… But I was told by the end of the year they had started to notice the drop off in attendance (previous years had seen thousands come each Friday, last year was supposedly dropping into hundreds).

So if you have a free friday, and feel like some good brews (Downtown Joes usually has a booth) and some good food, then go ahead and come on down for the great mix of music. In it’s heyday they had 3 different live bands each night with 3 different types of music. (Including bands like Ankthos, Brine Cline Band and many others) Last year I only saw 1 or 2… But like I said they supposedly learned their lesson.

If you are on the fence about this, I’ll be writing a report after I go the weekend after the 26th (I won’t be there for opening night as I’ll be in Hawaii, unless I can get another poster to post a report).
