Danger Rat
Daring rats are trained to sniff out deadly landmines in Colombia.
More people are hurt or killed by land mines in Colombia than any other country in the world.
Rats are considered ideal for tracking down the hidden mines because the animals have a highly developed sense of smell and weigh little enough to avoid the likelihood of triggering the explosive.
Paul Chapman reports.

”In fact the part of the brain which controls the rat’s sense of smell is overdeveloped and takes up about 40 per cent of the entire brain. They can break down a smell into its different components.”
Ok so does this I would consider a strange one to plae in a catagory. It’s weird but in a cool way. I know there has been a resistance to using dogs as they have gotten mamed by exploding mines. Using Rats because of their size is interesting. Watch the video for the whole article.
