Makeovers behind bars
Apr. 12 – A popular television “make-over” show in Lithuania called “Beauty Factory” filmed part of its new series at an unusual place, a state prison for women.
Show producer Kristupas Krivickas told Reuters they had decided to film the show at the prison after receiving a huge amount of letters from pleading women, begging to be given the rare treat of a makeover.
Around 50 women-prisoners with convictions ranging from murder to drug trafficking, put their names down for a chance to change their image during the filming of the show on Thursday (April 6).
However, only Onute Slezaite, 23, Neringa Rafanaviciute, 27, and Grazina Dovidaitiene, 32, were the lucky ones selected.
