Coming soon to a Hotel near you. I was going to ask you if you could tell what this was, but I sorta gave it away in the title. An Aussie Company that recently resettled in San Francisco has been placing these Vending Machines in various places. With them popping up in San Diego and Los Vegas.
Vending Machines Sell iPods
POSTED: 2:23 pm EDT April 6, 2006UPDATED: 3:06 pm EDT April 6, 2006Vending machines that sell iPod digital music players are heading to public places in the United States, including airports, grocery stores and even hotels.
The large Zoom Systems vending machines allow people who want one of Apple Computer Inc.’s iPods to swipe a credit card and then choose the device. The iPod is then delivered like a can of soda or bag of chips, according to the Local 6 News report.

They actually have those machines at SFO. They sell iPods, iPod accessories. They also sell other Apple items like Airport Express base stations, pre-paid iTunes cards, etc. What really surprised me was that the prices weren’t inflated for the Apple equipment either. It was the exact same price as if you were buying it from Target without any of the usual “Airport premium” you usually get when buying stuff from the terminal.
