I’m a huge baseball fan, but because of work (and wife’s programs) I haven’t caught a lot of the World Tournament. But lately it’s really gotten interesting:
As first Canada the country that can’t support it’s major league teams, with one leaving for no attendance and another one playing for the New Yorkers pretty much… beating USA and leaves the USA team struggling to fight to get into the playoffs.
And then in the Cuba vs Puerto Rico game (Cuba killed them) there was a protester with signs saying down with Castro… which caused Cuban Security to go up and try and remove the signs and the Puerto Rican Police kicking out the Security for harrasing the fans and letting them know there was freedom of speech there.
And now it’s the USA team again, this time against Japan and a tight game. When in the eighth there is a typical Umpire bad call… but against the Japanese team. The USA team can’t belive it and pull ahead to win with great comments like:
This is awesome,” Peavy said. “Johnny Damon looked at me in the second inning and said, ‘This is like October.’
So it had become interesting, But I wish it was either easier to watch or to follow.
