IIPimage is a client-server system for the remote viewing of ultra-high resolution images over the internet. Their demo of NASA’s incredible ultra high resolution Marble Earth image at 86400 x 43200 pixels is probably the biggest single image ever made available online!

That’s the boilertext… What really is cool is that they have a number of these images online available for download in a number of formats. And the size of these images would allow for some nice Wallpaper to be printed… Or if someone has a video wall and wants a huge image for one reason or other.

Note: if you plan to print this I’d suggest the JPG even if blurriest. Most shops do not have DVD Drives (and machines with enough memory) to handle the huge Tiff files. And PNGs may get more puzzled looks then anything. Normal resolution required is 300 dpi (can go down to 150 dpi) so in Photoshop resize the image without rescaling first to 300 dpi and then size image to what size you want. Also you may want to use the Tiff or PNG to work off of, since JPG just resaved (let alone adjustments) can degrade with each saving.
