Apparently the new iMac is so energy efficient that you could use it as a lamp while the CPU is being 100% utilized and probably save on electricity rather than turning on a light in your house.
A usage on 95 Watts with both CPUs running at 100% is amazing. Especially for a desktop. I can’t image getting close to that with either of my machines.
Here is the post where he does the math. Also I wonder would a Eden EPIA PC be able to even compare. It’s the only thing I could think of that can go cool and low energy enough. But CPU power wise it wouldn’t be close. (Fastest EPIA CPU is only 1 Gig while the imac is a 2 Gig dual core).
FYI – An imac is the all in one Apple Desktop computer.
