I was looking to find another Google Service and ran into this:
is an online community that connects people through a network of trusted friends.
We are committed to providing an online meeting place where people can socialize, make new acquaintances and find others who share their interests.
So is this a personals service run by Google? Or yet another project to promote community. I’m signing up why don’t you click and look at it too.
I did run into one issue… I don’t know anyone in it. So if you are a member already, invite me. If not you can join me on teh outside and wonder what it is.
orkut is unique, because it’s an organically growing network of trusted friends. That way we won’t grow too large, too quickly and everyone will have at least one person to vouch for them.
If you know someone who is a member of orkut, that person can invite you to join as well. If you don’t know an orkut member, wait a bit and most likely you soon will.

It worked thanks for the invite. This seems like an early exclusive version of MySpace that is geared more towards creating relationships.
I too would like to join Orkut. I have a friend who supposedly joined & I lost contact with them a while ago…I just figured this out accidentally that I could recover a lost friendship this way. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP? I would be SO pleased and glad to report back.
