I picked up a couple domains and I’m debating what to do with them. One I picked up because it was free… and then I got hosting because it was cheap (and I figured in case I needed backup). Then I got a second domain which I got because I was fooling around… and figured it wasn’t available. And once i got it, I decided I didn’t know what to do with it.
The first I got being cool was I Vant Info which I thought was a catchy name… Right now the idea in my head is to make it into a home page/scraper site. Have it display fark.com, digg.com, slashdot.org, boingboing.net and a few other feeds. I won’t have it going into much more detail then what their rss feeds have so I don’t get in trouble with it… Might be interesting to connect a blog or a comments system to it… I can see when more then one site has the same story, the way they view it could be interesting.
Now the second domain… the slightly embaressing (just because the wife might not approve of it) is truthfully something that popped into my dirty mind. Fuck Me 4 Info… I was surprised some porn place hadn’t picked it up (normally they do). So this one I figure I may sell… unless a career as an edgy new comic illustrator is in my future.
My other 2 domains Living in the Whine Country (Formally The Havens Household), my family website/blog I’m pretty happy with. And P.Havens Creations my side job I’ve gotten a start with and one of these days I’ll finish. That site is more of a Business Card type site, since most of my work is print. I’ve debated setting up an online portfolio… but I’ve done so much work, I’ve no idea what I’d use… and what would work well scanned/online. Maybe digital pictures of the work… but that doesn’t translate very well either.
So any suggestions would be appreiciated… I might go with them. I know I’ll be hitting up others as the days go by.
