OK maybe I’m slow but if I pop down money for a toy, I’ll have some common sense. For example… From high school welding classes I know that your pants pocket is one of the worse places to place something you don’t want scratched. Between detergents, dirt and other odds and ends (say change) things will get scratched up. So you aren’t supposed to put your cheap watch with the plastic face in it, your glasses are a big no-no, and if I owned one… a ipod with a faceplate. Plastic scratches… it doesn’t matter if it’s acrilyc or some other fancy named version. If it is plastic, it will get scratched. One reason why everyone suggests buying a sleeve for it. So when I saw a lawsuit for that… I just shook my head. Stupid sue crazy Americans.
Now the latest lawsuit is just about as crazy. Maybe stupider. A man is suing on the pretext that his ipod MAY deafen him. Um ok… If you listen to ANYTHING too loud it will damage hearing. doesn’t matter if it’s your ipod, TV, Stereo, Car Stereo, or work related noise. If it’s too loud your hearing will get damaged and it is permenant. That’s common sense 101 + growing up in high school when the coffin size boxes first started showing up in cars.
I am actually one who gladdly votes for the bills that come up to get rid of frivalous or idiotic lawsuits. Between idiots like these and the ladys who spill hot coffee on themselves (and then sue and win millions) and similar cases… I think a few lawyers need to find themselves either new work or as a tasty morsel for their brethern out to sea.

I know… lawsuits are completely out of control now. I live in Canada, and it’s not quite as bad… yet, but that seems to be changing really quickly. Ridiculous.

Thanks for the compliment. Right now it’s everyone suing everyone. I read a story the other day about a class action lawsuit in Russia. oh well bleh.
