I don’t know much about SCUBA diving. Mostly book learning and some basic knowledge I learned in different moments. But in reading I’ve learned how SCUBA diving had evolved… including current systems that are call re-breathers with that’s the expelled breath and runs it through CO2 scrubbers to extend the time under water… PLUS the fact you don’t leave visible bubbles. This I thought was hi-tech. But I was wrong.
An Israeli inventor has developed an underwater breathing system that literally squeezes oxygen directly from seawater, doing away with the need for compressed air tanks.
I know that the amount of oxygen in the shallow water most SCUBA diver work in isn’t much. In fact that would make me think it wasn’t possible. But leave it to an Israeli researcher to work out how it could be done.
