I meantioned earlier the Optimus Keyboard which is doe to be released this year. Well they are releasing a 3 button programmable keyboard (I’m guessing for testing more then anything) call the Optimus Mini this May. At first glance it looks like a cute toy. But since it’s configurable, plus it has the ability to have plug-ins written for it, I can see a good use with say Multiple Desktops (have a screen represenative on each button and use the buttons to toggle) or similar with a KVM.
Or have specialty keys for gaming, like TeamSpeak Talk keys or toggle keys for certain menus. So they are out of the way of game play.
Or just as they have them here… have it keep track of the email, time and music and leave the monitor off… maybe run things through the keypad. ie. for use in the living room or such.
All in all a something to look forward too and to soften the blow to the fact they now say they hope to have “Samples by the end of 2006.”
