A guy wrote a post on some simple things that could be done to survive the Slashdot Effect on your website. It could also be considered the Dugg or Fark effect. Basically when your site get’s noticed and thousands of users all at once visit your website. Usually sites will crash and die with the number of requests done simultaniously.
